Summer pruning workshop: Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens presents a hands-on workshop on summer pruning techniques from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21 at the arboretum, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Trevor Cameron, Evergreen Arboretum president, will go over the basic rules of pruning concentrating on two categories: pruning of spring-blooming shrubs, including rhododendrons and azaleas, and thinning of trees for summer health and lasting beauty. Summer Fest: This family-fun event at the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is from 1 to 3 p.m. July 28, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Bring the whole family to this free event at the arboretum and spend the afternoon listening to music, playing games, making art and exploring the gardens. Many family-friendly organizations from the community will be represented.

Oak Harbor Garden Tour: The self-guided tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30 includes six gardens, refreshments and entertainment. Tickets are $18 and are available at the Wind & Tide Bookshop, 3 Sisters Market, The Greenhouse Florist & Nursery, Mailliard’s Nursery, Rain Shadow Nursery and the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Sponsored by the Oak Harbor Garden Club.
Edmonds In Bloom: The 23rd annual Edmonds in Bloom is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15. The tour features seven private gardens, six in Edmonds and one in Woodway. Gardens range from professionally designed and installed properties to hands-on, do-it-yourself creations. Tickets are $20. Purchase tickets online at edmondsinbloom.com or at Garden Gear, Bountiful Home and the Frances Anderson Center, all in Edmonds, Sky Nursery in Shoreline and Lil’ Sprout Nursery in Mill Creek.
Snohomish Garden Tour: The Snohomish Garden Club will present its 33rd annual garden tour from noon until 5 p.m. July 29. The featured gardens, many of which have never been open to the public, present diverse gardening experiences from the smaller city lot in Snohomish to larger rural gardens along the Highway 9 corridor. Tickets are $15 and available online at www.snohomishgardenclub.com/page-18059 and after July 1 at McAuliffe’s Valley Nursery and McDaniel’s Do It Center in Snohomish, Molbaks Home and Garden in Woodinville and Sunnyside Nursery in Marysville.
