The private garden contains an extensive collection of Canadian, Gallica, Pimpinellifoliae, Rugosa, Foetida and historic hybrid tea roses. Fuchsia show and sale: The Sno-King and the Marysville Pilchuck fuchsia societys hold their annual judged show and sale 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11 at Country Village. Experts will answer questions and visitors can see a display garden and more than 25 hardy fuchsias. Country Village is a mile south of Canyon Park on Bothell-Everett Highway. Blue Grass in the Garden: Meerkerk Rhododendron Garden’s annual festival featuring Whidbey bands and set amid the garden surroundings goes from 11 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Aug. 10 at the gardens, 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank off Resort Road. Dahlia sbow: The Snohomish County Dahlia Society presents its 104th consecutive show 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at Floral Hall at Forest Park, 802 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. The show is open to the public.
Arboretum tours: Reservations are now being taken for 2013 custom group tours of the Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens. The group tours are available all year by calling 425-257-8597. There is no charge, but donations to the Evergreen Arboretum Foundation are welcome. The arboretum is at 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett.
