Arboretum party: The Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a free garden party from 5 to 7 p.m. June 21. Radio gardening expert Scott Connor will be there to answer questions and the Everett Chorale will perform. Guides will offer tours of the arboretum. The dirt on dirt: Get the scoop on garden soil to boost your garden’s output at a free seminar by master gardener Sandy DeLisle from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 22 at the Everett Public Library. Tour and tea: The Oak Harbor Garden Club’s self-guided tour of six gardens is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 29. Admission is a $15 donation to benefit garden club projects and the community and includes tea and treats. Advance tickets are for sale from garden club members, the Oak Harbor and Coupeville Chambers of Commerce, Purple Bench, Hummingbird Farm, Mailliard’s Landing Nursery, Wind &Tide Bookstore, Greenhouse Nursery and Bayleaf stores. Mukilteo Garden &Quilt Tour: The biennial tour, sponsored by Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters and the Mukilteo Way Garden Club, is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21 and and noon to 4 p.m. July 22. This is self-guided tour by car to seven locations featuring more than 100 handmade quilts. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 on the days of the tour at Rosehill Community Center, Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Website sales: www.mukilteogardenandquilttour.org. Edmonds in Bloom: The 18th annual garden tour on July 21 features six gardens including a Zen garden and a garden of rare species. Tickets are $15 available at Sky Nursery, Swansons Nursery, Wight’s, Plant Shack, Bountiful Home, Frances Anderson Center and Garden Gear. Tickets are also available online at www.edmondsinbloom.com. Snohomish Garden Tour: The Snohomish Garden Club self-guided tour is from noon to 5 p.m. July 28, featuring eight urban and suburban gardens. Tickets are $12 and will be available in early July at Annie’s on First, Curly Willow, Joyworks, Kusler’s, McAuliffe’s Valley Nursery, Machias Nursery, McDaniel’s Do It Center, Molbacks, My Garden Nursery and Sunnyside Nursery. Arboretum tours: Reservations are now being taken for 2013 custom group tours of the Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens. The group tours are available all year by calling 425-257-8597. Classes
