At this Historic Everett Theatre Hootenanny, it’s time to say goodbye to a music favorite and hello to a couple of newcomers to the Hootenanny stage.
Singer Rachel Mae is getting a “Happy Trails” send-off before the songwriter packs up and moves to Nashville. This may be one of her last intimate performances before she starts playing concert halls and stadiums.
And the audience will be saying hello to two new faces on the Hootenanny stage.
Larry Murante is a local singer and songwriter who uses smooth vocals and original compositions to deliver a folk-roots style. Murante was the 2009 grand-prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the 2011 West Coast Songwriters Contest winner, according to press material.
The other new guest artist is a rising country singer from Arlington who appeared in The Herald earlier this year because his talent and charm landed him a surprise trip to Dubai to sing to Navy troops there following a chance encounter with a commanding officer.
Jesse Taylor recently held a CD release party at a packed Skookum Brewery in Arlington. Taylor is the proverbial singing cowboy, who has taken his songs on the road to promote his music in person and at rodeos all over the country.
The box office opens for the Hootenanny at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for the 7:30 show at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $16.50, $13 and $5. Or go to brownpapertickets.com or call the box office at 425-258-6766.
