It’s the end of the week. Finally! Now it’s time to relax and have some fun. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
• See a MiG: The restored Soviet fighter jet is available for the public to see beginning Saturday. It won’t be around for long, though, so see it while you can. Details about when you can see it are in our story here. We also wrote about the fascinating tale of how the jet came to be in Snohomish County.
• Meet ‘Wimpy Kid’ star: Karan Brar, who plays Chirag Gupta in the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movies, plans to sign books moviegoers bring with them to the theater in Lynnwood tonight and then watch the showing with friends and classmates. You can read more about Karan and the event in our story here.
• Get tips on using your gadget: Learn from a tech-savvy teenager. If you have a smartphone, iPad, iPhone, whatever, patient teens will be available Saturday to help you figure them out. The event is free; read more about it here.
• Hear the Seattle Men’s Chorus: The Chorus will perform “Life is a Cabaret,” with music from Germany before the Nazi era. It’s more than just singing, with dancing and performance art as well. You can read our story about it here.
• Go dancing: The Hometown Hootenanny will have enough boogie woogie to make any Texan proud. The event is family friendly. You can read more about it in our story here.
• See a lot of cats: A cat show is Saturday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the pavilion. It is an all-breeds show and there will be judging and competitions. $5 for adults, $3 for kids and seniors.
