A colorful addition to the Christmas shopping throng each year was the American Legion Caroleers under the leadership of John Hedberg. Members included Frank Jamieson, Earl Bishop, Bob Lund, Bobby and Gil Schwarzmiller, Val Dowen, Al Bingaman, Bud Boblett and Don Blankenberg.
An old-fashioned Christmas was the theme of the traditional Christa Tea given last week by student librarians for the faculty of South Junior High School. Marcella Rawie was president of the student group. Lee Smith presented a tape recording of music made by his sister, Gail, a former South Junior student.

The Health Care Foundation of General Hospital of Everett was some $30,000 richer, thanks to the sold-out status of Robert Humphrey’s history book, “Everett and Snohomish County, a Pictorial History.” Proceeds from the special sale of all 1,500 copies of the book went to the foundation.
Certificates of appreciation from the city of Everett went to George Peterson, John Hall and Mildred Simpson, who recently retired from the board of the Everett Senior Center, and to Ralph Mackey, who retired from the city park board.
