The first Northwest National Park Family Day, with activities and entertainment for children and families, is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 2 at Seattle’s Seward Park.
Hosted by the National Parks Conservation Association and the National Park Service, the event will feature hands-on, kid-friendly activities such as how to set up a tent, nature hikes, camp cooking, wildlife encounters, becoming a Junior Park Ranger and more.
Rangers from Olympic, North Cascades and Mount Rainier national parks will talk about the history, wildlife and volunteer opportunities available.
Seward Park is at 5895 Lake Washington Blvd. S. in Seattle. Leashed pets are welcome, except in areas of native wildlife displays, including a raptor display.
