The 85th annual Island County Fair welcomes the public to Langley on Thursday through next Sunday with themes including Kid’s Day, Family Day, Armed Forces Day and Happy Day.
The fairgrounds, at 819 Camano Ave., are set for animal showings, crafts, live entertainment and carnival rides, plus art exhibits and artists, like a caricaturist, who will work as visitors watch.
Plan on seeing children’s entertainers Buck &Elizabeth and J.P. Patches, and a magician. Musicians on tap include jazz, reggae and country.
Gates open at 9:30 a.m. daily and close at 10 p.m. Thursday, 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and $7, free for ages 5 and under, and half-price 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday with two canned food donations per guest. Call 360-221-4677 or see www.islandcountyfair.com.
