Take back the night.
Beds are more than surfaces for sleeping and jumping.
How about a memory foam gel mattress on an adjustable power base with USB ports and LED lights?
Take it for a ride at this weekend’s three-day Everett Fall Home Show at Xfinity Arena.
The home show is a rock fest of windows, cabinets, appliances, roofing, countertops, furniture and electronics.
Summer’s over. Time to outfit yourself and your home for autumn chills and thrills.
Replace those leaky gutters and drafty windows. Drift off in a warm, cozy bed … with a remote control.
Adjustable beds raise and lower your head and feet, with options such as massage and vibration. No need to insert a quarter like at those hotel beds back in the day.
And no fighting over who gets dibs on the USB port. These are on both sides of the bed.
“Plug in your special device and you never have to run out of juice,” said Stewart Patey, owner of Mattress City, which has locations in Everett, Lynnwood, Woodinville and Auburn.
“There are high-definition LED lights for when you want to get out of bed in the middle of the night. It illuminates your bedroom so you don’t trip.”
Patey said about $3,500 buys a king bed tricked out with all the bells and whistles.
Toss out your old sheets and pillows. You need to top off this baby with bamboo sheets and a green tea infused gel pillow.
Then snuggle down and watch a movie with a remote control in each hand. The bed control won’t change TV channels … at least, not yet.
Many vendors will offer special deals on products at the show, said Bill Bradley, event producer.
“We’re doing a home show, but it’s also a huge sale,” Bradley said.
The admission is a three-fer deal, with a Gift Show and Authors & Autographs Event.
The author event, started last year, has books for all ages and the people who wrote them. Meet the author, get the book signed and a photo. More than 30 authors will be on hand.
The Gift Show has 60 cash-and-carry vendors.
You might need to check out those beds for a nap.
