Kid crafts: Learn about quilting

Here’s a rainy-day idea: Let the kids spend a day learning sewing and quilting basics at a Kids Kwilt Kamp from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 7 at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.

Clothing and textile advisers with the Washington State University Snohomish County Extension will teach kids ages 8 to 17 the basics of quilting, cutting, sewing and finishing.

Projects will include pot holders and a wall hanging. There will also be games, prizes, lunch, dinner and snacks.
