• “Holiday Sensation Decoration Celebration,” 2 p.m. Dec. 4, main branch. This is an all-ages show with puppets, music and actors in costume, presented by Cyndi Soup and the Thumbs Up Puppeteers.

• Family crafts program, 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 14, main branch, and 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 15, Evergreen branch. Children and teens of all ages are invited to make holiday crafts, ornaments and cards. Free supplies are provided.

• Puppet show, 4 p.m. Dec. 16, main branch, and 2 p.m. Dec. 21, Evergreen branch. See three short holiday-themed puppet plays and meet the puppets after the show.

• Story time for up to age 17 months, 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Evergreen branch; 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays main branch, through Dec. 7.

• Toddler story time, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, main branch; 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Evergreen branch, through Dec. 9.

• Story time for ages 3 to 6, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Evergreen branch; 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, main branch, through Dec. 9.

• Preschool playgroup 10:30 a.m. Fridays at the Evergreen branch. Kids can play with the library’s educational toys.

Sno-Isle Libraries: There are 21 Sno-Isle library branches in Snohomish and Island counties offering a variety of free programming for children, teens and adults. Call 877-766-4753 to learn more about your local branch or see www.sno-isle.org.

• Story times: Many branches offer free weekday story times for babies, toddlers and preschool kids. Go to www.sno-isle.org and click on “Events &Programs” for a detailed schedule.

• Children’s chess club, 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Edmonds branch, 650 Main St.; 425-771-1933. Kids ages 5 to 12 receive coaching from a professional chess champion.

• “Monsters, Monsters Everywhere,” 7 p.m. Nov. 23 and at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Arlington branch, 135 N. Washington Ave.; 360-435-3033. Kids in grades 6 to 12 can build their own plush monsters using felt, buttons, and other creative items. Registration is required, but the classes and materials are free.

• Handmade stepping stones, 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Freeland branch, 5495 Harbor Ave.; Freeland; 360-331-7323. Create a mosaic stepping stone. Free supplies are provided.

Imagine Children’s Museum: 1502 Wall St., Everett; 425-258-1006; www.imaginecm.org. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Closed Mondays. Activities are free with admission of $7.75. Ages 12 months and younger can visit for free. Half-price admission ($3.88) is offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursdays.

• Holiday hours: Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Open Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.

• Terrific turkey craft, all day Nov. 24. Free with admission.

• Free Friday Night Live: Later hours and free admission, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 17 only.

• Play Patch, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 10, 24 and 31 and Feb. 7, for ages 18 months to 5 years. Grownups and kids play together to learn art, science, movement and music. Play Patch kids also receive exclusive time in the museum. Cost for the four-week session is $55 for members, $65 for non-members and $25 for an additional sibling. • “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” through Jan. 30; see costume items from “Potter” films, explore the Quidditch area, encounter Buckbeak the hippogriff and more.
