Here’s some good news, ye olde (and young) tired moms and dads.
You only have to stay up until 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2015.
At Imagine Children’s Museum, families can party like they are in Times Square and do it on New York City time, which is three hours ahead of Pacific time.
The traditional New Year’s Eve countdown will feature a lighted ball, 3 feet in diameter, that will be lowered 40 feet outside the museum at 1502 Wall St. in Everett.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the museum’s third annual “New Year’s Eve: A Family Night to Remember.”
There will be activities for families with children of all ages. Performers include musicians Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth and comedian/juggler Eric Haines. There will be face painting, balloon art creations and a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. Revelers can make hats and noisemakers.
Admission is $10 for museum members, $15 for non-members.
Is 9 p.m. still too late?
The museum will have special New Year’s Eve activities from noon until 4 p.m. Entertainment includes caricature artists and musicians Miho &Diego. Visitors can make their own etched glasses, New Year’s Eve hats and ring-in-the-new-year noise makers.
All activities are included with the $9.80 cost of admission. The museum will close at 5 p.m. Doors will open for “New Year’s Eve: A Family Night to Remember” at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required for evening event admission.
