“The Owl and the Woodpecker,” 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Aug. 7. Learn about the most important species of owls and woodpeckers in North America while viewing photos and learning how these birds define their habitats.
“Wolves and Wild Lands in the 21st Century,” 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sept. 7. This traveling exhibit presents a contemporary perspective on wolves in North America, including how wolves and humans have coexisted for thousands of years, including the story of wolves in Washington state.

Summer reading program registration starts on June 24 at both branches. School-aged children and teens earn prizes for filling out their reading logs, then enter a drawing to win a bike or scooter if they reach their reading goals. Reading logs will be available until July 31. Babies and preschool-aged children can earn prizes for listening to stories read aloud. Free special events and activities will be offered at both library locations in July and early August.

Lake Whatcom Railway summer trains: Ride on an antique train with cars dating back to the early 1900s at noon every Saturday June 18 to Sept. 3. Tickets, purchased at the train, are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 2 to 17. Trains leave from Wickersham Junction about 10 miles north of Sedro-Woolley on Highway 9.
