Lake Whatcom Railway: Celebrate the Easter season with a ride on an old-fashioned train with cars dating back to 1910. Departures will be at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. April 16. Tickets, which typically sell out early, are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 2 to 17 and must be purchased in advance by mail. Trains leave from Wickersham Junction about 10 miles north of Sedro-Woolley on Highway 9. The Easter Bunny will hand out chocolate eggs. Hand actions, fingerplay, flannel board and other props, puppets and activities are part of this interactive morning.

Spring fling, puppets, please, 11 a.m. April 2, Lake Stevens branch, 1804 Main St.; 425-334-1900. Children are seated in a semicircle on the floor around an arena-style performance area, where handcrafted marionettes perform.

Kindermusik symphony serenades “Count Yourself Silly,” 10 or 11 a.m. April 9 at Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. Rumble in the jungle with counting crocs, jumping monkeys and playful percussion, for ages birth to 5.

Tiny Tots “Melodies from the New World,” 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. May 20 and 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. May 21, all at Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall, for ages birth to 5.

“Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination,” through May 8; see more than 80 authentic costumes, interactive displays, models and props from all six “Star Wars” film, and explore futuristic technologies found in the films and compare them with real-world scientific progress.
