Immerse yourself in the world of whales when Adopt A Stream Foundation presents “Killer Whale Tails” with biologist and photographer Jeff Hogan at 11 a.m. April 5 at the Northwest Stream Center.
The foundation’s director, Tom Murdoch, promises you’ll see “whales swimming on the walls” as Hogan presents his show, which includes information about their travel habits, hunting abilities and playful side.
The big mammals’ brains are so large that they can put half of it to sleep and keep motoring along in slumber mode. Don’t try this on a road trip.
The whales’ underwater life was recorded on a whale-cam attached to a killer whale’s dorsal fin (just temporarily).
Hogan also will distribute workbooks to help you identify each creature by its dorsal fin.

Tickets are $5 for Adopt A Stream Foundation members and $7 nonmembers. Proceeds benefit the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Streamkeeper Academy.
