Deep in the forests of the Northwest lives one of the most beautiful and fascinating cats around, the lynx, often hunting its elusive prey, the snowshoe hare.
Join Aaron Wirsing, a University of Washington wildlife science professor, for an evening of lynx natural history at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Northwest Stream Center in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Adults and kids in fourth grade and higher are invited to learn how long lynxes live, their size, how far they range, where their mothers make dens and their favorite foods.
Reserve a space by calling 425-316-8592. Admission is $5 for members of the Adopt-A-Stream Foundation or $7 for nonmembers.
Proceeds benefit the Streamkeeper Academy. See www.streamkeeper.org for more information.
