Copper River salmon has developed quite a following over the years with local foodies.
It’s some of the first fresh-caught salmon of the year from Alaska, and it’s arriving in grocery stores now.
To celebrate the season, James Valentine, an award-winning corporate executive chef for Top Food &Drug stores, will demonstrate how to prepare Copper River salmon with a roasted chile-mango sauce from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Top Food &Drug, 1301 Ave. D, Snohomish.
The recipe will be handed out, as well as wine and bread pairing recommendations.
Top Food &Drug’s seafood merchandiser, Russ Casteel, who recently returned from the opening day of Copper River fishing in Alaska, will talk about the highly regarded catch. Call 360-568-1395 or go to www.top-foods.com for more information.
