The Village Theatre’s Pied Piper performing arts series presents a jazz-inspired version of “Corduroy,” Don Freeman’s story about a lonely girl who finds a friend in a department store teddy bear at 2 p.m. today.

Santa sightings
Santa will be sighted in Snohomish County this weekend.
The Camano Senior and Community Center’s breakfast with Santa begins at 9 a.m. today at 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island. Cost is $10 for photo packets, $6 for breakfast and $4 for ages 8 and younger for breakfast. Call 360-387-0222.

Mountain scenes
Eighteen oil paintings of mountain landscapes by Snohomish artist Roy E. Hughes, a member of the Arts of Snohomish cooperative gallery, are on display through December at the Snohomish Public Library as part of its Year of the Book celebration.
