Little Si Trail
What: A short climb up Mount Si’s smaller sibling.
Length: 6 miles roundtrip
Difficulty: Moderate.
Beginning elevation: 480 feet.
Elevation gain: 1,200 feet.
Permit: None.
Map: Green Trails No. 206S, Mount Si NRCA
Notes: While Mount Si gets all the attention, Little Si is a popular lower-elevation choice that can still give you a good workout even on these nasty, cold days. The trail climbs steeply for a third of a mile, stay left at the first intersection, then right at the second junction. Head north to the overhanging walls of the peak, which are popular rock climbing spots on dry days. The trail loops around with a few switchbacks up to the peak. From the top, you can enjoy the view of the mountains, if the weather cooperates, and North Bend and the river, even if it doesn’t.
