Do you want to get off the pharmaceutical grid by making your own home remedies, especially for your kids, who don’t have a lot of options for cold and flu relief?
You can.
Bastyr University is offering a continuing education class.
Naturopathic physician and registered herbalist Sheila Kingsbury, who practices in Kirkland, will teach Kitchen Medicine for Children from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Bastyr campus in Kenmore. Fees are $59.
Students will learn how to use ingredients in their kitchens to create a fully stocked medicine chest to help soothe the common cold or flu, treat injuries and encourage restful sleep.
Registration is open through Friday, Jan. 30 here or call 425-602-3152.
Learn more about home-made remedies in a story I wrote about a similar class by a different instructor here. It includes recipes.
