Marimba was one of our reader’s favorite spots in downtown Everett.
The Latin-style restaurant on Hewitt Avenue near Rucker had friendly service, tasty food and salsa dancing.
Now, Marimba has closed and Sol Food Bar & Grill opened in its place. Much remains the same.
The menu serves very similar Latin-influenced fare with the addition of more appetizers and a broader selection of burgers.
New owners added a full bar and opened a patio out back (for the over 21 only crowd), according to an employee who answered the phone the other day.
Sol Food still has dancing on Thursday nights and live music most Friday and Saturday nights.
We’ll see how this new business does. Neighboring restaurant, The Majestic Cafe, recently moved to Colby Avenue.
