Starting May 1 Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo will have a brand-new west entrance with multiple lines for tickets and members, cutting down waiting times.
The new entrance on Phinney Avenue N. between N. 55th and N. 56th streets replaces the old north and west entrances. Visitors can continue to use the south entrance at Fremont Avenue N. and N. 50th Street.
The zoo is adding a covered bicycle parking area, too, as part of the eco-friendly improvements.
Also coming to the zoo May 1: a meerkat mob. These lively cousins of the mongoose family haven’t been at the Woodland Park Zoo for about 10 years.
