The 10th annual Mill Creek Festival and Street Fair, taking place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, has a new location, on Mill Creek Boulevard just north of 164th Street SE.
Organizers hope this will encourage guests to attend — rather than deter them from — the two days of nonstop family entertainment.
The event was moved from the Mill Creek Town Center as a result of concerns voiced in previous years. Now there are larger activity areas and more seating for stage performances.
This year, a car show will take place on Main Street both days. A Kidz Korner will offer activities for young guests.
The community stage, with acts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, will feature dance teams, martial arts, a clown and a theatrical production. The sounds of tropical steel drums, party dance music and blues, plus Elvis and Beatles tributes, will make the main entertainment stage something to see, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The street fair will feature yard and garden art, photographs, woodwork and other items.
There is no general information phone line for this festival, but details, including a map and the full stage performance schedule, are compiled at www.millcreekfestival.com.
Festivalgoers may bring food, but food vendors also will be on hand.
Admission and parking are free.
A shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday between McCollum Park &Ride, 620 128th St. SE, Everett, and the festival area, so organizers advise the use of this option.
