Camano Island should be art lovers’ focus this weekend at Art by the Bay, a two-day arts festival presented by the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild.
The 13th annual festival brings together the art of more 100 local artists at Utsalady Elementary School on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can view the art, watch art demonstrations and enjoy entertainment and food booths.
There will be an art area for children, and as a testament to the popularity of the event for the first time free shuttle service from the Terry’s Corner park-and-ride lot will be provided to the festival site.
Diane Hill, a watercolor and oil painter, is the featured artist this year. One of her paintings, a beach scene, was selected for this year’s poster.
The variety of art on view includes paintings in many media, art glass, photography, fiber art, jewelry, ceramics and pottery, baskets, garden art, furniture, wood and drawings.
Visitors will also find gift cards, soaps and candles, planters, specialty coffee, quilts, dried floral arrangements and other gifts.
