Country music heyday
Vintage performance footage from the “Golden Era of Country Music” and a live performance by singer-songwriter and Sirius Radio’s “Outlaw Country” DJ Dallas Wayne highlight “You’re Lookin’ at Country,” at 8 p.m. Thursday at Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave., Seattle.
Here’s the Film Forum Web site’s description of the event: “Wayne will transport you to a bygone era filled with big hair, Nudie suits, jamborees and cheerful songs about alcoholism, despair, family feuds, murder and couples in trouble. This program will feature such greats as Hank, George, Porter, Johnny, Willie, Buck and Loretta, singing a blissful mix of high lonesome and down dirty.”
After the film, Wayne will perform a short live set. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $12.
