For a few hours Saturday, Edmonds will be caught between the moon and New York City.
Christopher Cross, the smooth hit-maker from the ’80s, is coming to the Edmonds Center for the Arts.

He has won five Grammys and an Oscar and had one hit single after another.
All these years later, he continues to tour, playing about 100 dates each year. He also released his latest album, “Dr. Faith,” in May.
Cross will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds.

The Manhattan Transfer got its start in a New York City taxi four decades ago.
Founder Tim Hauser drove a cab to help pay the bills. Before long, the aspiring singer picked up fares who wound up being his bandmates and part of the Grammy-winning vocal jazz group.
Hauser and Laurel Masse, Janis Siegel and Alan Paul formed the Manhattan Transfer.
Masse left the band in 1978 after a car accident. A national search led to Cheryl Bentyne, a native of Mount Vernon. That foursome stayed together and performs today.
The quartet never skipped a beat and has continued to produce award-winning material.
They make one of their frequent visits to the region beginning Thursday and continuing through Oct. 16 at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley, 2033 Sixth Ave., Seattle.
Tickets are $40 at www.jazzalley.com or 206-441-9729.
