Tours and films are parts of the fun running through Sunday at Seattle’s Museum of Flight.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gossamer Albatross human-powered flight, the museum, 9404 E. Marginal Way S., has its Gossamer Albatross II available for visitors to tour from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
On June 12, 1979, cyclist Bryan Allen made the first human-powered aircraft flight, crossing the English Channel in the Gossamer Albatross.
Guests can see two short films, “Search for Adventure-Gossamer Albatross” at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and “The Flight of the Gossamer Condor” at 11 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. These events are free with admission of $7.50 to $14. Find details at 206-764-5720 and www.museumofflight.org.
