Rush Hour series: Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5; Alexander Borodin: Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor; Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47; 7 p.m. March 18. Tickets $14 and $77.

“Garden Full of Songs”: This is part of the Tiny Tots series and Let Your Music Shine with Lisa & Linda at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. March 18; 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 19. Tickets are $12.

Portland Baroque Orchestra: Portland Baroque Orchestra with vocal soloists from Montreal’s Les Voix Baroques and choral support from Cappella Romana to perform Bach’s “St. John Passion.” Free concert lecture begins at 2 p.m. with the concert at 3 p.m. March 20 at Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave., Seattle. Nordic Heritage Museum: 2011 Mostly Nordic Chamber Music Series comprised of Sunday afternoon chamber music concerts at the museum, followed by a smorgasbord. Monroe Concert Community Band: Musicians are needed for this community band of 60 or so volunteers who range from high school students to semi-professional musicians. The band performs four concerts a years and practices from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at New Hope Fellowship Church, 1216 Main St., Monroe.
