Seattle Symphony
Single tickets for Seattle Symphony’s 2008-09 season commemorating Benaroya Hall’s 10th anniversary are available at 10 a.m. Saturday. Tickets can be purchased by phone or in person at the Seattle Symphony ticket office at the corner of Third Avenue and Union Street.
Concert-goers also can order tickets online using the Select Your Own Seat feature at www.seattlesymphony.org. Subscription packages, which offer savings over single ticket prices and ticket exchange benefits, also are available.
The season begins Sept. 12 with a season preview concert followed by the Opening Night Concert &Gala on Sept. 13, featuring Gerard Schwarz, internationally beloved mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and bass player Samuel Ramey.
The season continues through July with an array of artists from around the world, including a celebration of American conductors, Mahler’s “Symphony of A Thousand,” Pops concerts under the direction of Seattle Symphony’s new Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch, the complete Beethoven String Quartets, recitals by distinguished artists, visiting orchestras, world premieres of new works and popular culture concerts.
Benaroya Hall, home of Seattle Symphony, is Seattle’s first facility designed exclusively for concert music performances. Located on an entire city block in downtown Seattle, the hall serves as a focal point of the city’s urban core. This state-of-the-art concert hall opened on Sept. 12, 1998.
