Music talk: Band concert

North Cascades Concert Band, made up of musicians from around northwest Washington, plays a wide variety of concert band music throughout the Northwest.

Tonight, North Cascades Band can be heard starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington. The concert is sponsored by the Arlington Lions Club. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from an Arlington Lions Club member at $12, $10 seniors, $5 students.

Musical cruise

For a bit of a Sweet Adelines spin on Christmas, take in a cruise and be serenaded by Voices Northwest, a Snohomish County barbershop women’s chorus. Members of Voices Northwest are singing on the Virginia V this holiday season.

In its first cruise of this kind, the Virginia V has invited Voices Northwest to sing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 19. The cruise will connect with the Christmas ships for a tour around Lake Washington.
