“The Nutcracker” in Edmonds and Everett: Olympic Ballet’s production features choreography by OBT artistic directors Mara Vinson and Oleg Gorboulev, sets designed by Jeannette Franz, Ruth Gilmore and Phillip Lineau, and iconic music scored by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The cast includes more than 100 OBT company dancers in principal roles, local guest artists and select Olympic Ballet School students. The Journeys’ Annual Christmas Concert: Celebrate a traditional Christmas and the sounds of the season with music featuring Bronn Journey and his harp. ”A Miracle on 34th Street”: Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Marysville, presents a modern reworking of the holiday favorite, adapted and directed by Red Curtain’s artistic director, Scott B. Randall. The plot: When Jessie’s elderly father goes into the hospital with COVID-19 in December 2020, her theater friends gather on a video call to cheer her and her daughter, Kara, by doing a performance of Kara’s favorite Christmas classic, “A Miracle on 34th Street,” over Zoom. The story is a mix of the familiar story (as portrayed in the classic movie), improvised lines and pop culture references. Each character will be seen in their own “homes,” plus the projected Zoom call high above the stage. The show will run for 4 weekends, Nov. 25-Dec. 18, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $18-$22.
