Things are going from bad to worse for NBC, which not only saw its only top 10 show, “Law &Order: Special Victims Unit” slip out of the top 10, it tumbled all the way No. 17 and left “ER” to carry the torch at No. 15, according to ratings released by Nielsen Media Research today.
Nothing changed among the top four shows, with “CSI,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Lost” and “Without a Trace” still holding on those spots, but ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” swapped places with CBS’s “CSI: Miami” to take over the No. 5 slot with 18 million viewers.
ABC’s breakout hit of the season, “Commander in Chief” actually picked up about 100,000 more viewers (to 16.3 million) but slipped a spot from the previous week to No. 10, thanks to the second game of the World Series, which pulled in 17.2 million viewers.
Since that was all a little out of order, here it is, plain and simple:
1. “CSI” (CBS), 28.5 million viewers
2. “Desperate Housewives” (ABC), 25.2 million
3. “Lost” (ABC), 21.3 million
4. “Without a Trace” (CBS), 19.8 million
5. “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC), 18 million
6. “CSI: Miami” (CBS), 17.9 million
7. “Survivor: Guatemala” (CBS), 17.8 million
8. “NCIS” (CBS), 17.7 million
9. “World Series: Game 2” (Fox), 17.1 million
10. “Commander in Chief” (ABC), 16.3 million
