Now, on the heels of spring, might be a good time to get motivated.
After all, it’s show season, that time of year when local businesses gather at convention centers to share their newest and best ideas for making your home and garden functional, stylish, beautiful and maybe even eco-friendly.
Here’s a look at three of the biggest shows in the region that are featuring — and catering to — Snohomish County folks.
Northwest Flower & Garden Show opens Wednesday for a five-day run at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle.
Dedicated entirely to gardening, it includes two dozen large display gardens, 120 seminars, a marketplace and activities for kids. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., except on Feb. 27, when the show closes 6 p.m.

The Seattle Home Show, featuring home and garden vendors, is going on now through Feb. 27 at Qwest Field Event Center, 800 Occidental Ave., Seattle.
Admission is $10, $7 for ages 60 and older and $3 for ages 7 to 15. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Thursday and on Feb. 27; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. See www.seattlehomeshow.com or call 425-467-0960 for details.
The Everett Home & Garden Show, featuring more than 200 vendors, will be from noon to 8 p.m. March 4, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 5, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 6 at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Admission is $6.75 or $6.25 for ages 58 and older. Ages 16 and younger can attend free. See www.everetthomegardenshow.com.
