“The Tourist”
An American tourist (Johnny Depp) thinks he’s found romance in Italy but finds himself in danger.
The film is reminiscent of the mid-20th century, when great looking actors — Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn — were thrown into exotic locations to find adventure and love.
It never mattered if the story was contrived and cliched. The romantic sparks between the leads were enough. There are so many sparks in “The Tourist,” it’s a wonder the fire alarm doesn’t sound.

“How Do You Know”
Two men (Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson) are in love with the same woman.
Director James L. Brooks, who showed a great knack for portraying odd relationships with “As Good as It Gets” and “Broadcast News,” is out of step here. His pacing is slow and the camera work often seems to drift.
Grade: C
“Yogi Bear”
Yogi and Boo Boo must help Ranger Smith save Jellystone.
Kids will be attracted like ants to a picnic. Their parents will be as entertained as having to deal with ants at a picnic.
Director Eric Brevig blends live action and computer-generated animation. The real actors and CGI characters work together seamlessly. It’s what they are doing together that’s the problem. The script is as heavily slanted toward Jellystone Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) and his love interest (Anna Faris) as it is toward Yogi’s antic.
