North Cascades Institute’s 22nd season is under way with seminars, lectures and outdoor adventures around the state.
Among 53 programs available are Colors and Calls: Birding by Ear and Eye, May 9 and 10; Duwamish River Kayak Excursion, May 30; Landscape and Lens: Photographing the North Cascades, June 5 to 7; and San Juan Islands Botany Excursion, June 12 to 14. Fees vary and registration is required.
The Institute also offers free Learning Center day trips, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6, July 19, Aug. 2 and Sept. 27. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for activity sign-up.
