Make a Mother’s Day of it at Meerkerk Gardens on Sunday in Greenbank on Whidbey Island.
Bring a picnic, a blanket or lawn chairs, and enjoy a concert on the beautiful grounds by folk harpist Harper Tasche. Then stroll the 10-acre garden.
The event takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at Meerkerk Gardens, 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank. Entrance fee is $10 for adults. Children under 16 are admitted free and dogs on leashes are welcome.

Gardening workshop: St. John’s Episcopal Church in Snohomish is hosting master gardener Pam Shoberg on May 19 for its final free gardening workshop of the season.
Shoberg will discuss what to plant in May and June, what crops are great for warm weather and growing food to harvest for fall and winter, and how to mix varieties of plants in the same beds.
She will also have samples and recipes using homegrown food.
