It’s a big week for flowers and floral arrangements in Western Washington.
Today in Everett the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs’ ‘Tis the Season flower show continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at 3105 Pine St.
Flower fans can view arrangements and cut and potted displays of conifers, broadleaf evergreens, berries, fall flowers, houseplants, edible fruits, root crops and herbs in this 65th annual show.

Orchids: In Seattle, the Northwest Orchid Society is putting on its annual fall sale on Saturday and Sunday at Swanson’s Nursery, 9701 15th Ave. NW, Ballard.
Orchid expert Mike Cory will give a talk on orchids at 10 a.m. Saturday in Swanson’s seminar room.
There will be a large orchid display and potting demonstrations at various times on both days plus repotting services for a fee.
Orchid hobbyists will also be on hand to answer questions along with vendors offering unusual and hard-to-find orchids, including Emerald City Orchids and SeattleOrchid.com, both of Seattle, Sorella Orchids of Vancouver, Wash., and Out on a Limb Orchids from Camano Island.
Orchid sale hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the nursery’s north glass house.
