Tired of watering yet?
It’s time to get water wise with drip-irrigation expert Jeff Thompson.
The Snohomish County master gardener is offering two how-to garden irrigation workshops July 27 to accommodate busy summer schedules, one from 1 to 3 p.m. and another from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Washington State University Extension offices at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Learn how to water exactly the areas you want at the exact time you wish. Watering at appropriate times can help you save water and prevent disease by minimizing water contact with leaves, stems and fruits in ornamental and vegetable gardens.
Thompson will use hands-on demonstrations to show what you need to buy, how to put a system together, and how to customize and expand an existing system.
He will also explain the benefits of using drip irrigation for containers, raised beds, vegetable rows and even plants on balconies.
Registration is required. The cost is $20 per person or $25 for two people sharing materials.
To register, call Karie Christensen at 425-338-2400 or e-mail klchristen@cahnrs.wsu.edu or go to [URL]www.snohomish.wsu.edu/garden/workshops/registrationform.pdf;http://www.snohomish.wsu.edu/garden/workshops/registrationform.pdf [URL] and download a registration form and mail it in with a check to Washington State University Extension, 600 128th St. SE, Everett, WA 98208.
