Wouldn’t you just love to peek behind the imposing garden walls in one of Seattle’s most exclusive neighborhoods, The Highlands?
Here’s your chance to see four estate gardens on the Historic Estate Garden Tour from 1:30 to 5 p.m. June 24. The $100 tickets benefit the E.B. Dunn Historic Garden Trust, the only Olmsted designed residential landscape in the Northwest that is open the public. The Olmsted Brothers plans resulted in numerous parks and boulevards in Seattle.
This year’s tour includes an Italianate woodland garden, a natural layout with manmade water elements, a view location overlooking the sound, and a landscape that neatly blends newer features with the older and more formal.
Music and refreshments will be available along the way.
Registration is recommended as space is limited. Contact the Dunn Gardens at www.dunngardens.org, call 206-36-0933 or email info@dunngardens.org. Passes will be mailed on receipt of payment.
