In case you forgot, history is just two days away.

Barack Obama is expected to be sworn in as the nation’s first black president by 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Here, we review how you can watch one of the most anticipated news events in recent memory.

We also make note of the day’s somewhat less historic happenings, including an inaugural breakfast buffet in Marysville and an Edmonds bar serving Obamatinis.

Locally

Washington, D.C.’s celebration is a bit too far away for most Obama supporters in Washington state.

Luckily for them, several events are planned in the area.

Here, a look at a few of the public celebrations taking place Tuesday.

Edmonds inaugural bash: Celebrate Obama’s Hawaiian upbringing at the Very Taki Tiki Bar and Grill, which will broadcast the day’s events on its 11 flat screen TVs and sell Obama-themed drinks, such as the Obamatini and the Obama Mama. 10 a.m. to midnight, Very Taki Tiki Bar and Grill, 518 Main St., 425-778-3548, no cover

Marysville inauguration breakfast: Tickets to this morning event, where the public can watch the event on overhead televisions, include a hot breakfast buffet. 7 a.m. doors, Cedarcrest restaurant, 6810 84th St. NE, $15, brownpapertickets.com, 425-785-4592

Whidbey Island inaugural ball: Bring your own beer, wine and soft drinks, along with a finger-friendly dish, to this celebratory potluck dance with a live D.J. 7:30 to 10 p.m. Freeland Hall, 1515 Shoreview Drive, Freeland, 206-391-1087 for information

5th Avenue Theatre is holding a one day ticket sale and will sell tickets to the first week of the new musicals, “Memphis” and “Hello, Dolly!” for $20.09. The first week of “Memphis” runs Jan. 27 to Feb. 1. The first week for “Dolly” runs March 7 to March 15. By using the not-so-secret promotional code “OBAMA” beginning at exactly 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, purchase discounted tickets in one of three ways: online at www.5thavenue.org and type in the promotion code online when signing in; by phone at 206-625-1900 (toll free 888-5TH-4TIX) and say the code or at the 5th Avenue Theatre box office, 1308 Fifth Ave. The offer expires at midnight for online orders and at 5:30 p.m. by phone or at the box office.
