Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood is known for its stunning 30-stop organ, built by Martin Pasi and housed in a black walnut, Italianate-style case.
On Sunday, that beautiful instrument will be emitting the beautiful sounds of Bach when it is played by Brazilian organist Julia Brown.
Brown kicks off the church’s 13th season of its Artists at the Organ recital series. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. There is a suggested donation of $10.
Brown is a native of Rio de Janiero and now is director of music at the First United Methodist Church in Eugene, Ore. She has recorded extensively, with her most recent recording of the music of Buxtehude on the largest of Martin Pasi’s organs at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha. Brown also has recorded several programs for National Public Radio and has given recitals and concerts in Europe as well as in the Americas.
