The season finale of Trinity Lutheran Church’s recital series “Artists at the Organ” wraps up with two local musicians noted for their mastery of Baroque-era music.
Les Martin, organist and choir master at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Seattle and adjunct professor of organ, harpsichord and harmony at Seattle Pacific University, is in high demand because of his talent. He has played with such organizations as Philharmonia Northwest, Thalia Symphony Orchestra and the Seattle Philharmonic and has recently been invited to perform with Choral Arts and the Seattle Symphony.
Violinist Kim Zabelle is a member of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and the Iris Quartet, a period instrument flute quartet. She is a performer on baroque and modern violin and viola and has performed internationally at festivals such as Tanglewood, Salzburg, Victoria and Vancouver.
Martin and Zabelle have performed together before. Their program will include the music of Corelli, Biber, Böhm and others.
Trinity Lutheran Church is noted for its stunning organ built by Martin Pasi, housed in a black walnut, Italianate-style case in a fine acoustical environment.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. The suggested donation is $10 and seniors and students can pay what they are able. For more information, go to www.trinitylutheranchurch.com.
