Eight-Mile: Help repair a trail leading to Squire Creek Pass off Mountain Loop Highway near Darrington from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 29. The hike to the project site is expected to be 2-4 miles round trip over steep terrain. Work will include annual maintenance and possibly a minor trail relocation. No experience is necessary, but expect to be physically active at your own pace for up to six hours. Adopt a stream: Stream ecologist Tom Murdoch will present five ways to “adopt a stream” at 7 p.m. May 30 at the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
