Two painters and a ceramic artist are featured in November at the Arts of Snohomish Gallery in downtown Snohomish.
Oil and pastel artist Carol Noble, wildlife artist Bob Dunn and ceramic and jewelry artist Olivier Peter-Contesse are showing their work Monday through Nov. 28 at the artists’ cooperative gallery, located at 105 Cedar Ave., in the city’s historic Carnegie Library building.
The show is titled “Clay, Pigment &Gems.” Meet the artists at a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5.
Noble draws on the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest for her work, which includes seascapes, landscapes, florals, portraitures and animals done in both pastel and oil.
Dunn bases his watercolor, gouache and acrylic paintings of animals on first-hand observation, and animals and birds are frequent visitors to his studio located at the base of Mount Pilchuck and on the south fork of the Stillaguamish River.
Peter-Contesse’s ceramics include larger-than-life, true-to-form bird, beaver and lion ceramic skulls. He also creates glazed, wood-fired ceramic vessels such as crocks, teapots and vases in colors ranging from earth tones to cobalt blues. The artist uses semi-precious gems to make fine jewelry.
On Nov. 27 the Arts of Snohomish Gallery hosts its November Art &Antique Walk in conjunction with the city’s “Home for the Holidays” celebration. The public can see art demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.
Arts of Snohomish Gallery is open daily; www.artsofsnohomish.org, 360-568-8648.
