Fast cars and racing take center stage at this year’s 16th annual Pig Out on the Farm at Biringer Farm.
The Marysville Strawberry Festival’s racing theme continues at the farm with “The Races Are On.”
Many new events are highlighted at this year’s Pig Out, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Strawberry Pig Cup features mini thunder hydroplane racing in exhibition races. The Northwest Lawn Mower Racing Association participates in demo laps and the Washington State Snowmobile Racing Association presents exhibition races.
NASCAR Northwest Series Twin Race Team drivers John Bender and Darren Trimble team up with pit crews for a meet and greet with fans. Bender was Evergreen Speedway champion in 2000 and NASCAR Northwest Series Rookie of the Year in 2001.
Sky Valley Racing Association driver John Sahm brings his lightning truck to the farm. Skagit Racing Series driver Lyle Woods visits with his Skagit Speedway sprint racecar. Colton Heath, another sportsman sprint series driver, also visits.
Visitors at the farm can view classic cars and off-road vehicles, race cars and trucks, semi and customized trucks and demo boats and other vehicles.
Favorite events such as the Slurp ‘N Burp strawberry shortcake eating contest, a kite show and hog-calling events return to the farm.
Hungry visitors can join in a barbecue featuring a roast pig on a spit, corn on the cob and Biringer’s Pig-Trough strawberry shortcake.
For children, there are free rides and farm animals.
