Planes, fair, outdoor art, music and more weekend fun

Yee-haw: The fair continues through the weekend. It’s Rodeo Day at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe on Saturday. Demolition Derby day is Sunday. Click on our roundup here for details.

Take to the air: See historic planes buzzing Paine Field at Vintage Aircraft Weekend, 9 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 10719 Bernie Webber Drive. There will be old-time cars as well as planes, music, food and more planes, sponsored by Historic Flight Foundation. The fun goes on Sunday too, with chances to take a ride in a biplane or a DC-3. Art in the air: The work of 27 plein air artists is on display at the Roaming Artists Art Show at Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 E. Camano Drive, Camano Island. The show goes on from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Story time: Tim Noah and the One World Family Band sing and tell stories at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish; tickets are $10. Click here for more information.

Jet away: Visit Jetty Island while the rest of the crowd heads east to the fair. Jetty Island Days are coming to a close Monday. Pick up your tickets and hop on the free ferry running from the 10th Street Boat Launch. Get details on visiting here.

Music, maestro, please: Catch singer-songwriter Ali Marcus from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Arlington Farmers Market at Legion Park, 114 N. Olympic Ave. Then skedaddle back to Everett’s Port Gardner Landing, 1700 W. Marine View Drive, for the last free waterfront concert this summer featuring rock/hip hop group Riverside from 6:30 to 8:30 Saturday night.

At play: The Phoenix Theatre’s production of the Neil Simon play “God’s Favorite,” about a modern-day Job, continues at 8 Saturday night at 9673 Firdale Ave. Tickets are $15.50 to $18.50 and available at the box office by calling 206-533-2000 or clicking here.

Oh ‘shoot: It’s Bumbershoot weekend at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St. Bumbershoot (if you’re new to the area and don’t know) is an annual music, art and theater bash. Click here to see the lineup or call 800-745-3000 for more information.

Preview the Tips: The Everett Silvertips’ annual preseason tournament is going on at Comcast Arena Saturday and Sunday, with games at 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day. The Tips play in the 7 p.m. games. Go here for ticket info.
