‘Prairie Home’ at a theater near you

Here’s a chance to see your favorite “Prairie Home Companion” characters live … well, almost live … on Thursday evening.

Garrison Keillor and his gang of regulars along with Elvis Costello, Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, Heather Masse and folk duo Robin and Linda Williams perform live at The Fitzgerald theater in St. Paul, Minn., and broadcast to movie theaters around the country.

The taped two-hour edition of “Prairie Home” will be shown at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Alderwood 7 theater in Lynnwood and at the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon.

Ya, sure, it’s a radio show, but you bet your booties it will be fun to see Dusty and Lefty and Guy Noir on stage, and get all the news from Lake Wobegon.

The Alderwood 7 is at 3501 184th St. SW, Lynnwood. Tickets for the Alderwood showing, purchased in advance online at www.fandango.com, are $20.

The Lincoln Theatre is at 712 S. First St., Mount Vernon. Tickets are $14 to $19 plus service fees, and may be purchased through www.brownpapertickets.com. The Lincoln will show an encore of the show at 8 p.m. Feb. 9. Call 306-336-8955.
