When Garth Christensen tunes into Lifetime Television’s “Project Runway” tonight, he’ll be just as surprised as everyone else about the outcome.
Even though his son, Joshua Christensen, is one of the contestants, the Snohomish father of six has no idea what will happen.
“We’re going to watch with everybody else,” Garth Christensen said. Designers on the show are required by contract not to spill the beans about what happens during the elimination contest.

Garth Christensen said he’s surprised at how many people are fans of “Project Runway,” and excited for his son.
There’s “not a chance” that the senior Christensen will wear the high-couture fashions his son designs. He’ll stick to “farm boy wear,” he said.
Still, it’s great to see one his children living out his dreams on a national stage.
“We’ll see how it goes,” he said.
“Project Runway” begins the show’s ninth season tonight at 9 p.m.
