With the start of the new school year, students and parents alike will be looking ahead — and looking back — to prom time.
And what better place to get in the mood for boutonnieres and corsages than a seat at the interactive dinner theater experience, “Awesome ’80s Prom,” at Comcast Arena.
This flashback prom is set at Wanaget High in 1989 and has the same classic characters that no prom should be without: the captain of the football team, the exchange student, the geek and the hottie head cheerleader. They are all vying for the coveted titles of Prom King and Queen, according to the Comcast website.
But at this prom, the audience decides who wins. Before making any decisions, patrons will have lots of time for moonwalking to retro hits including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.” Guests can join the breakdance circle or sit back and watch the ’80s drama unfold, according to the website.
“Awesome ’80s Prom” starts with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. There are multiple shows through Sept. 19.
Tickets are $67 and $87 at the Comcast Arena box office, at www.comcastarenaeverett.com or 866-332-8499.
