“Swimmy, Frederick and Inch by Inch”: The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings its soothing storytelling style and perfect puppets to Everett to gently impart some important lessons to children.
Swimmy is a tiny fish who uses his ingenuity to ward off danger. Frederick is a poetic mouse who spreads the joys of art and culture and language.
The inchworm loves to share his facility for measuring anything and everything, according to the website for Village Theatre, which is bringing this show to town through its Pied Piper program.
The show is based on the book by Leo Leonni, who was well-known as art director for Time Life and Fortune magazines and created the original layout for Sports Illustrated.
Leonni is an award-winning author of more than 30 children’s books.
“Swimmy, Frederick and Inch by Inch” will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $15 and $13. Call 425-257-8600.
